海牙國際法庭常設仲裁法院即將在台北時間下午5時針對南海案仲裁做出判斷，外交部發言人王珮玲上午表示，待一收到仲裁判斷，外交部第一時間會先發布中華民國政府立場聲明，之後則需待仔細研析可能多達上千頁的判斷內容後再向國人說明。
王珮玲重申，中華民國政府有關南海議題的基本立場是南海各聲索方對於南海領土與海域權利主張，均須依照國際法及聯合國海洋法公約；中華民國對於南海領土及海域權利的主張，也符合國際法及聯合國海洋法公約。
其次，各聲索方均有義務尊重南海地區之航行與飛越自由。
